Holland Interest Survey
The Holland Occupational Themes is a theory of personality that focuses on career and vocational choice. It groups people on the basis of their suitability for six different categories of occupations. The six types yield the RIASEC acronym, by which the theory is also commonly known. The test consists of 48 tasks that you will have to rate by how much you would enjoy performing each on a scale of (1) dislike (2) slightly dislike (3) neither like not dislike (4) slightly enjoy (5) enjoy. The test will take most five to ten minutes to complete.
Many career exploration surveys are based on off the Holland Interest Survey.
Apprenticeship Opportunities
The Sacramento-Sierra Building and Construction Trades Council (SSBCTC) has 32 apprenticeship program/career pathways, also known as Joint Apprenticeship Training Centers. JATCs provide all the training and certifications needed in the ever-changing environment of construction, ensuring the highest trained and skilled workforce through management/labor partnerships. Through these partnerships, the training curriculum can be adjusted for technology’s increasing influence in the construction industry.
